Help out the farm

About Us

Green Desert Sanctuary is a non-denominational, Earth based church, spiritual center, learning center and farm located in Southern Colorado. We keep llamas, alpacas, pot bellied pigs, chickens, turkeys and rabbits. The Sanctuary is mostly an online endeavor at this point, but the farm is up and running. We grow our own chemical free produce and usually have extra for sale, as well as free range eggs, and raw camelid wool. We are growing industrial hemp this season.

Richard is the farm manager and handles most of the day to day farm tasks. He still holds a day job, which he works from home, via the internet, out of an office in the garage.

Kerry is an ordained minister, practicing spiritual counseling and energy healing. She is also an artist and freelance writer.

We have two children at home, which we home school, and two older daughters who are out exploring the world on their own.

We also have several house pets thrown into the mix.

We try to live as sustainably as possible and have chosen a Non Consumerist approach in our personal lives, which means we don't shop just to shop. We have given up consumerist holidays, and are not Christian, so the celebration of most "American" holidays seem unnecessary.

We do celebrate our planet Earth. We seek to honor and cherish the land by living gently and giving back through farming in a natural way. We do not use chemicals on our farm and try to keep them away from our livestock and pets as well. We look for natural alternatives in everything we do.

We welcome others to join us in our farming experience and to participate in our daily communion with nature. The great outdoors is our church and we worship all of life that shares this awesome planet!
